Bloemendal Wine Estate & MTB Trails

Set in the heart of the fertile Durbanville wine region, Bloemendal Wine Estate is a boutique wine farm renowned for their wide variety of award winning wines – locally and international. The Estate forms part of the Tygerberg MTB Club Trails network.

Bloemendal Wine Estate comprises a total of 239 hectors, divided into two sections by the M13, the main access road connecting Durbanville with the areas of Tableview, Panorama and Platterkloof and boarded by the farms Nitida, Maarstricht, DÁria, Morgenster and Hoogelegen, make this one of the pristine located wine estates in the Durbanville Wine region. Bloemendal Wine Estate is open daily for tastings and purchases of their award winning wines. The onsite restaurant Bon Amis serves up French inspired cuisine.

MTB TRAILS & BIKE PARK

The Lower section of Bloemendal is located at the bottom of the M13 (Tygervalley Road)and is especially great for beginner and younger riders. As you enter the farm gates you will see Bon Amis restaurant on your left, with MTB parking up the gravel road to your right. Just behind the pond at Bon Amis there is a purpose built singletrack for kids ages 4-8. There is also a Y-bike trail for the youngsters without peddle bikes. For the more adventurous head straight past Bon Amis till you see the block and tackle with a bike welded on it. This is the official parking space for those who want to do Lower Bloemendal proper. For the more advanced cyclist, head through the gate and left into Ntida, to access Upper Bloemendal.

Day permits are sold for non-members and can be obtained Mon-Friday 8am-5pm at Biosport and at the Bike Park (Sat & Sun 07h30 – 14h00). There are two permits available, the R30 children 18 and under and the R50 for adults. Permits allow access to Bloemendal, Nitida, Hillcrest and the Bloemendaaler (Upper Bloemendal). The Protea Hotel will also be selling permits for Bloemendal which can be bought from the staff at the reception desk and they are open 24hours / 7 days a week.
