BIKE FRIENDLY BUSINESS PROGRAM
South Africa’s first-ever Bike Friendly Certification programme recognises and promotes businesses that welcome cyclists and cycle tourists. The programme also assists businesses to become more bike friendly, while enhancing the South African bicycling experience. Participating business have access to discounts on bike racks and receive bike friendly certification and signage.
BICYCLE CAPE TOWN
Started in 2012, our urban cycling campaign, Bicycle Cape Town, has been advocating for safer streets and a more bike friendly Cape Town while inspiring more people to ride bicycles. Get involved with our active campaigning group and take on the issues that impact your ride. Your support fuels our advocacy work and strengthens the voice of city cyclists!
SOUTHERN CAMPOUT
Launched in 2018 Southern Campout is our annual spring bike overnight event that brings together cyclists & adventure seekers from across the Southern Hemisphere for a night of bike camping! Southern Campout is brought to you by Bicycle South, Everyday Cycle Supply Co and partners in celebration of the outdoors, bicycle travel and community. Our goal is to promote adventure cycling and empower and inspire more people to travel by bike and discover adventure in the great outdoors!
BIKE BUDDIES
Are you new to cycling? Do you want to cycle more? Are you looking for other people to ride with? Our Bike Buddies programme matches up aspiring cyclists with a experienced cyclists (bike buddies) in their local area to help them build skill and confidence to feel great on the road. Bike Buddies is 100% volunteer run and relies on the support of an awesome network of experienced cyclists who are passionate about empowering more people to ride. Currently we are running a pilot programme in Cape Town but we are also calling on cyclists across SA to join so that we can spread the Bike Buddy network.

THE BIKE BUS
Join The Bike Bus and discover the awesomeness that is collective bicycle commuting! This year we have teamed up with Open Streets Cape Town to encourage more people to bike to work and activate a series of bicycle commuter routes around the city. Also look out for upcoming Bike Bus #AtoBChallenge rides to Open Streets events.
BIKE NITE
As Cape Town’s premiere bicycle networking event, Bike Nite draws +100 attendees from city cyclists to designers and urban change makers. Hosted at Truth Cafe, the event features Pecha Kucha style talks (short, engaging, inspiring) and open conversations that explore different aspect of Cape Town’s bicycle culture – from pressing advocacy issues to local bicycle businesses and urban change initiatives.
