Campaigning for safer streets and empowering more people to cycle, more often, for more reasons.
Started in 2012, Bicycle Cape Town, has been advocating for safer streets and a more bike friendly Cape Town while inspiring more people to cycle in the city. Today, the campaign is supported by a network of volunteers, who are passionate about transforming Cape Town into a city that’s fantastic to live and cycle in.
As a member of Cape Town’s Cycle Forum, we work with local council and local cycle advocacy organisations to improve facilities for cyclists and raise the profile of cycling in the city. Projects range from street campaigns to bicycle parking projects. Throughout the year we run various social cycling events and networking events, and provide education and information resources to local and visiting cyclists. Contact us to find out about current advocacy initiatives and volunteering opportunities.

Join our community. Your support fuels our advocacy work and strengthens the voice of city cyclists, creating real change on our streets.
Together let’s make cycling in Cape Town better.
In 2014 Bicycle Cape Town was awarded recognition as a World Design Capital Cape Town 2014 project!
