Roam Rooiberg
This a newly built coffee shop and bike park is located just 15 kilometres outside Robertson in the Western Cape. The venue offers hiking routes, MTB routes, a restaurant and cycling shop with workshop which make it the ideal stop over from where the enthusiastic mountain biker can explore the mtb routes of the area. It is also part of the Rooiberg Breederiver Conservancy MTB trail.
The setting
Situated in the Rooiberg Breede River Conservancy on the Rooiberg Mountain this prime nature venue offers great views over the Vinkrivier valley and Langeberg mountains. You can expect peace and tranquility and a close up experience of very diverse birdlife, tortoises, lizards, small buck like mountain reedbuck, duiker and steenbokkies as well as eland and zebra. The area is known for its diverse plant species. Every season has interesting wild flowers in bloom which offers opportunity for exploring the veld and amazing flora.
MTB trails / Bike Park / Bike Rental
Roam Rooiberg offers a 12km mtb trail over pristine Karoo landscape with breathtaking views. The terrain is dry, rocky semi-desert with a mix between flowing, non-technical but really delightful singletrack and jeep tracks which start at the shop. Short, Medium, Long and XL options to suit. This trail forms part of the 71km Rooiberg Breede River Conservancy MTB Trail.
There is also a 150m kiddies cycling trail that offers youngsters a fun bike ride while parents can watch them from the deck of the restaurant. We have limited bikes for hire for riders who need the equipment and there is a cycling shop and workshop at the trail head.
Cafe/ Restaurant
After your ride, visit the bike & coffee shop with the best view in Africa, sit on the terrace, order a home-made lunch and chill to the sound of silence.
Thursday evenings are family fun nights. Night runs/walks and night rides alternate. The whole family can come and take part and enjoy a pre-booked meal at the restaurant. The restaurant is a special little gem where you can sit on the deck and enjoy the view while you are spoilt with light meals and divine cakes and coffee. Feel free to bring your own wine.
Accommodation
Farmhouse accommodation offers two luxury bedrooms with double beds and one bathroom with shower. From these rooms you will enjoy breathtaking views over mountains and valley. Come and enjoy real country hospitality.
