Field Office (Woodstock Exchange)
The Field Office is a meeting place, an office-away-from-the-office, a sometimes quiet spot to hide, read, eat, gaze or pretend to be working.
Founded in 2010 by Luke Pedersen and James Lennard the concept for a ‘field office’ developed out of their own need for a meeting place and a belief that people would identify with their vision & aesthetic.
With their furniture business (Pedersen + Lennard) taking off they needed a place to meet clients, show their latest work and take a break to enjoy a good coffee.
“We enjoyed escaping the sawdust of our factory to the fresh air cycling into town and found we had a lot of friends with the same needs”
Each cafe connects with the area through art exhibits, commissioning local artists to do murals, social bicycle races, live music etc
“Our stores reflect not just our own aesthetic journey as a South African design business but also the surrounding creative community”
The success of their brand has come through a hard-working team, good relationships with suppliers, keeping customers at the centre and a deep belief in what they are doing as a pioneering brand.
Beyond a meeting place with great coffee & food, the Field Office is an opportunity to slow down and engage with your own creative vision.
