No time keeping, no winners or losers – just a great weekend for a great cause. Join us on a relaxed 2 day MTB round trip on the scenic gravel roads of the Garden Route & Little Karoo. Enter as individual or book for yourself and a partner or team. Proceeds will go to Up With Down’s Centre for Children with special needs in George, Western Cape. During the tour you will have the opportunity to meet and ride with MTB champion Matthys Beukes! The event takes place during International Down’s Syndrome awareness week.

The 2019 UP & DOWN CHARITY MTB TOUR on 19 -20 October 2019 starts at the foot of the Montagu pass, at the Witfontein offices of the Outeniqua Nature Reserve (Cape Nature) just outside George. The relaxed 60km route takes cyclists over the historic Montagu pass, a challenging but non-technical gravel road offering spectacular views of the Outeniqua mountains and Indian ocean. At the top of the pass, a wine tasting “pitstop” at Herold Wines will introduce riders to the unique flavours of wines from this micro winery – bring your credit card to buy some of the wines you like! From Herold cyclists meander along scenic gravel roads of the Little Karoo, towards the overnight accommodation at Louvain Guest Farm in the Upper Langkloof Valley. Louvain offers true Little Karoo hospitality in luxury en-suite single/ sharing rooms. Lunch, dinner and breakfast is included in the package. You will have the chance to meet MTB champion Matthys Beukes who will be participating in the ride.

Day 2 is an easy 40km ride back along the foot of the Outeniqua mountains through private working farms, returning to the Garden Route via the Montagu pass. Pancakes and coffee at the Old Toll House will round off the day before riders finish at Witfontein.
