This month’s Bike Friendly Business recognition goes to Dario’s Cafe in Hout Bay! With fantastic Italian coffee, a warm, lively atmosphere and great food, Dario’s is a favorite haunt for local cyclists, riding the Atlantic Seaboard.
Dario’s not only provides bike parking for cycling customers but as a certified Bike Friendly Business member, is actively involved in supporting cycling advocacy initiatives and events to make Cape Town more bike friendly.
Recently owners, Dario and Rossella decided to expanded their bike parking facilities to welcome more cycling customers. Dario built a new in-expensive bike rack from gum poles and it looks like their hard work payed off! This past weekend they had a full house with most of their trade coming from passing cyclists. Goes to show that ‘if you build it they will come’ – works for bike parking too!
