The Wild Fig Restaurant

On the banks of the Liesbeek River, nestled in the shadow of Table Mountain lies The Wild Fig Restaurant and Bar. Located on the historic Valkenberg Estate, just outside of Cape Town’s oldest suburb, Observatory, The Wild Fig invites you to step-back-in-time and enjoy fine country dining.

The restaurant consists of a two-storey main building, a garden courtyard as well as a quaint country-style pub, Annie’s Arms, which is set in a converted barn, now a National Monument. Inside you will find thirst quenching local craft brews, wholesome country cuisine – mixing of Thai, Mediterranean, vegetarian and local flavours, and fascinating examples of Cape vernacular architecture.

The main restaurant houses a large stone fireplace that roars to life all through the colder months. The rest of the year one can enjoy relaxed dining in a garden courtyard.

Located just of the Liesbeek Park cycleway, the Wild Fig is easily accessible by bike and there is plenty of space to park your bicycle in the courtyard.
