Rockwood Forest Lodge is located on the banks of the Godwini stream within the indigenous forest of the Karkloof Nature Reserve.

Rockwood Mountain Lodge (about a 20 min drive from Rockwood Forest Lodge and about a 10 minute drive to the start of the Karkloof Canopy Tours) is located on the edge of a natural clearing in the forest. Due to its remote location, this eco-friendly lodge makes use of solar power for lighting and gas for all other requirements.

Rockwood Farm Cottage nestles on the wall of Spitzkop Farm Dam. This 2 bedroomed, 2 bathroomed, self-catering cottage offers access to some of the best mountain biking routes in the country, as well as, hiking in the indigenous forest of the Karkloof Nature Reserve, excellent dam and river fishing, stunning views, bird watching, unrivalled peace and a short car trip to the adrenalin inspired Karkloof Canopy Tour.

Rockwood Farm House is located on the same property as Rockwood Farm Cottage. It is not suitable for children who can’t swim as it is on a dam with no fence. It offers stunning views of the indigenous forest and farmlands.

Mountain Biking

The Karkloof is excellent mountain biking country. Every year there are many MTB events in the area. Feel free to explore the marked trails and plantation roads around Rockwood (while respecting the privacy of surrounding landowners).

Hylton Turvey, builder of the Karkloof Classic trails, can be booked to arrange outrides in the area with 72 hours notice.
