Northern Farm
Northern Farm Nature Reserve (also known as the Diepsloot Nature Reserve) is one of Johannesburg’s best-kept secrets and offers over 2500ha of beautiful green grasslands and woodlands to explore.
There are several dams in the reserve as well as 270 different bird species (incl. a breeding pair of fish eagles).
Many different recreational users i.e. cyclists, horse riders, hikers and birders enjoy relaxing in the open space and clean air of the farm.
It’s a great family outing and offers safe and secure parking at the clubhouse, where toilet, shower and braai facilities are available.
MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAILS
Northern Farm is a mountain biker’s dream with a wide range of different terrains suitable to everyone from beginners to Competitive cyclists in an environment safe and suitable for the whole family. You’ll cycle past farmland and dams, and also through lush, green areas.
Cyclists can select their own route according to their experience. All of the routes are well marked and easy to follow while riding your bike. The pink kids’ route is 8km long, while the rest range from an easy 12km to a very challenging 62km with many obstacles. For more details on each trail visit our website.
