Matroosberg

The Matroosberg Private Nature Reserve is situated on the working farm Erfdeel.

During the winter months, Matroosberg is often covered with snow. After a good snowfall, the southern slopes remain snow-clad for quite some time and you can drive to the snow. This area is also well known for its private ski-slope.

The Matroosberg Nature Reserve is a haven for outdoor enthusiatss with activities ranging from farm tours, 4×4 routes, quad biking, snow boarding and ice climbing – weather permitting, fishing to abseiling, kloofing, hiking and horse riding and of course mountain biking.

Accommodation is available in the reserve in the form of self catering cottages and campsites which can accommodate large groups.

Mountain Biking

Mountain Biking can be done on all the trails in the reserve, as well as on all farm roads. For the ultimate downhill experience, you can try the 4×4 trail and descend 1081 vertical meters from the Matroosberg Peak down to the campsite (distance 11Km).

Accommodation guests can use all trails free of charge.
Non-accommodation guests – R55 per person per day.
