Hermanus MTB Trails
The Hermanus MTB Trail is the favoured option for mountain bikers in the area. Starting at the Hemel-en-Aarde Village, four different routes will take you deep into the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley where beautiful views are only a part of the enjoyment. Each track has its own difficulty and will cater for every class and style of mountain biker (ranging from an easy 7km Green Route to a challenging 65km Black route). From river meanders to vineyard and some stunning views over Hermanus and the Overstrand.
Day and annual permits are available at White Stone Cycles, Village Cycles and the Wine Village. Family permits are available only at the Wine Village. [At the Sandbaai & Main Rd intersection] Or contact Paul on 082 820 3331

FernKloof – Hermanus Cycle Trail
There is also a 17 km (10.5 miles) circular FernKloof – Hermanus Cycle Trail. This intermediate trail consists of mainly jeep tracks but also incorporates single track areas (including a few sandy and rocky sections) and tar. The trails is signposted for clockwise travel and may be joined at any point, although it is best to start at Fernwood Reserve. The route skirts the houses, passing through profuse Fynbos with butterflies, birds, baboons, mongoose, frogs, tortoises, snakes and lizards.
