Cycle Roots
Neels Du Toit, (Cycle Roots owner and guide), arrived in Hogsback in 2010. This was his last stop before heading back to his home in Port St Johns.
He never left…and so, Cycle Roots was born!
Neels has been building and maintaining the single track mountain bike paths through the forests of Hogsback ever since and offering guided bicycle rides and self-styled backyard adventures.
The bicycle shop includes repair facilities as well as bicycle rentals.
Hogsback mountain biking has become extremely popular over the last couple of years and Cycle Roots has featured in some of the top magazines in the country, including Getaway, Country Life and Tread Magazines. He has also featured in a few national papers including the Sunday Times, Daily Dispatch and Die Burger.

- Join us on a guided tour (forest tour or chilled out village tour)
- Rent a bike (map and permit included)
- Buy a permit and head out on your own bike. There are a variety of trails in the area from dirt roads and jeep tracks to single track, graded for beginners to advanced. Maps and detailed descriptions of all the trail routes are available from Cycle Roots.
