The property is on the banks of Lake Heritage and forms part of the Cradle Moon Conservancy. Nestled at the foot of the Swartkop Mountain Range, Lake Heritage is a thriving ecosystem that boasts a variety of bird and aquatic life as well as a family of hippo. Lake Heritage is contained by one the largest hand built stone dams in South Africa and is a great place for bird watching, open water swimming, sunset cruises and canoeing.
With over 50 kilometres of mountain biking and running trails we are able to guarantee a secure and special experience for every level of athlete, and with varied terrain from forests to mountains, as well as being home to over 20 species of wild animals, including rhino, Cradle Moon is unique. Choose from different routes that are sure to test your abilities as the terrain varies from rocky climbs and bridges to bermed corners along jeep tracks and single tracks.
Game drives and walks are also on offer for those seeking an authentic wild life experience on the full extent of the Conservancy. Enjoy a hot air balloon flight over Lake Heritage with Air-to-Air Africa. Book-in the night before and in the morning watch the balloon being launched on the shores of Lake Heritage before take-off.
