Bellwood, a working stud farm, is situated in the heart of the beautiful Kwa Zulu Natal Midlands spanning over 650 acres of green flowing hills, magical avenues of ancient trees and woods and is widely recognised for its unparalleled beauty.

Our 5 warm and inviting self catering cottages sleeping, 14-16 guests are set around a tranquil dam, a quaint honeymoon cottage and a rustic family farm cottage provide serenity from the rush and bustle of city life. The facilities and inclusions are comprehensive and of the highest quality.

The cottages are surrounded by landscaped gardens, ideally located for wedding guests or a quiet weekend away designed for our guests to enjoy a relaxed and comfortable ambience.

Bellwood Wedding Venue provides an idyllic location, with your choice of the wedding ceremony held in either the Old Barn Chapel or the Forest Chapel and the stately reception venue catering for lavish or intimate weddings in a tranquil setting around the dam.

The farm is perfectly situated to access the Midlands Mountain Bike trails – some of the best in South Africa. Whether you are keen on riding the handcrafted single track of Howick and the Karkloof or taking a gentle ride through attractive farmlands and quiet country roads, stopping to visit local art studios and organic deli’s along the way.

Given the wide open spaces and mountainous terrain it is no surprise that the Midlands is home to many passionate mountain bikers and organisations such as the Howick Mountain Bike Club and Karkloof Mountain Bike Club, who through a system of sanctioned access with land owners such as Sappi, have created the largest network of single-track and great trails marked out for 10km, 20km, 30km and XCO (Cross Country) available in the country.
