Join Bicycle South and friends for the annual CycloFemme Ride as we mobilise Cape Town’s cycling community and support this incredible worldwide movement celebrating Women on Bikes!

Cyclofemme is a fun, social ride open to all (regardless of gender, age, ethnicity or bicycle preference).

Together let’s share in the joy of cycling and inspire and empower more people to ride.

ABOUT THE RIDE & ROUTE

Distance: 8km
Start Point: Tea in the Park at Greenpoint Urban Park.
Route: The route follows the traffic free cycleways through Sea Point to the Oranjezicht City Farm at Granger Bay for a refreshment stop. The ride takes in the sights of Cape Town’s seafront promenade offering all skills of riders a chance to ride together for the sheer joy of it. Participants are welcome to stay on at the market or return to the park with the group.

Children age 10 and over (or younger if suitably skilled) may ride single bikes or on tandem, with an adult on the front. While younger children are encouraged and welcome to enjoy the lovely bike paths with a parent within Green Point Urban Park while the CycloFemme group heads to the waterfront market.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING

1. Your bike (bike decorations welcome too!)
2. Your helmet
3. A bike lock to secure your bike at the market
4. Cycling friends of all genders and identities.

CycloFemme is a Global Celebration of Women created TO HONOR THE PAST from the shoulders of those who stood before us, for the freedom to choose and the chance to wear pants. TO CELEBRATE THE PRESENT with strength and courage, voices raised, moving together. TO EMPOWER THE FUTURE of women everywhere, the backbone of positive social change.
