On the 8th of March cities across the globe took part in The World Naked Bike Ride (WNBR), a global initiative to raise awareness around environmental issues and celebrate carbon free mobility and the power of the bicycle to transform our cities.
In Cape Town over 300 riders from all walks of life, dared to bare- joining the ride which started at Prestwich Memorial in the CBD and followed a route along the Fan walk bicycle path to Seapoint, looping back into the city centre for a leisurely roll up Long Street and back down Bree Street.
It was a truly colorful event that brought the city to life – inspiring everyday citizens stop and think about low carbon mobility, cycling safetly and freedom of expression – as one passerby commented –
This is why I love Cape Town.
